If you're researching skin care and you're from the Scottsdale area, you probably already know our skin is the largest organ in our bodies, and sometimes the most neglected. The Arizona sun and dry humidity is hard on our skin. Most people are now aware that using sun block is an imperative part of keeping our skin healthier and more youthful looking, but after that, most people know very little about what is best to put on their skin.
Marketing skin products is a multiple billion dollar industry in the United States, so it is no surprise that many of the patients I see are using over the counter skin care products, many of which are very expensive. I commonly hear that these products are not effective, and I am not at all surprised. The FDA tightly controls the amount and concentration of active ingredient that can be included in products sold over the counter. This is for the consumer's protection because the use of these products is not being overseen by a doctor or board certified plastic surgeon. On the other hand, products supplied by a physician's office have to go through rigorous testing and prove that they are effective.
Healthy appearing skin is the cornerstone of a youthful appearance. If the wrapping paper doesn't look good, even the best facial plastic surgery won't benefit you as much as it would if the skin was in shape. Dr. Flint designs personalized skin care programs for her patients. Stop wasting your money and time on department store products and have Dr. Flint prescribe a skin care program that actually works for you.
Topical skin care products and peels designed to improve the appearance of the skin.
Dr. Flint will have you fill out a skin care history form to tell her more about your skin type. She will then examine your skin and recommend skin care products that will provide you with healthier more youthful appearing skin.
After you have been on the program for four to six weeks, a complimentary glycolic acid peel is provided. This is done in the office by Dr. Flint's staff. It is recommended that this peel be administered every eight to twelve weeks.
Glycolic peels are light and do not lead to long term redness or discomfort. Other peels are also available in the practice for deeper wrinkles or pigmentation problems.
To better understand the needs of your skin, take the next step by scheduling a skin care consultation at our offices in Scottsdale or Mesa, Arizona. Dr. Patti Flint is a female plastic surgeon in Scottsdale providing medical skin care treatments.
"I do my own skin care evaluations and deeper peels and perform all the injectable filler treatments myself as I feel the patient deserves the time and attention of a board certified plastic surgeon for all treatments delivered in my practice." Patti Flint, M.D.
