Rhinoplasty Scottsdale

cosmetic surgery consultation before and after photos

For those who do not like the size or shape of their nose, rhinoplasty can be a truly life changing experience. Dr. Flint thoroughly enjoys performing this procedure because it requires precisely executed surgical techniques. The positive feedback she receives from her patients regarding their improved self-esteem and confidence is very gratifying to her.

In all procedures she does, but especially in facial rejuvenation procedures, Dr. Flint is committed to creating natural appearing results. She shares many pre-and post-operative photos of her past patients with new patients to help them understand what good results can look like. She does not use computer imaging, because drawing an image on a computer screen has little to do with how the surgery is performed and how any given patient might heal.

Rhinoplasty at a Glance

Rhinoplasty involves changing size, shape, and or position of the nose. If breathing problems exist, straightening or removal of a deviated septum may also be performed. The changes in shape and size that can be accomplished are wide ranging. Humps on the surface of the nose can be removed, and nasal tips can be down-sized and made less bulbous. The nasal width can also be narrowed. Nostril shape can be changed to decrease flaring.

The Nose Surgery

Dr. Flint uses board certified anesthesiologists to provide a general anesthesia. A very small well hidden incision is made on the undersurface of the nose between the nostrils. Cartilages are re-shaped and the position of the nasal bones may be altered. The procedure takes between one and three hours.

Preparing for a Rhinoplasty

You will meet with Dr. Flint to discuss your desires and goals of your rhinoplasty procedure. Photos will be taken and all of your questions will be answered. You will be provided with a written quotation of the fees associated. You will be allowed to select a date for your surgery if you desire.

Recovery

Upon awakening in the recovery room a splint will be on your nose. Nasal packing is not required unless an operation was done to correct obstructed breathing. Swelling and bruising around the nose and eyes will be treated with ice packs. Generally discomfort is very mild. Bruising generally resolves within a week to ten days. The improvements in the nose will be obvious early in the post-operative period but the final shape and refinements will continue to improve throughout the first year. You may return to heavy activities three weeks post-operatively.
